Trauma is the leading cause of death of young individuals in America. Uncontrolled bleeding kills in 4 minutes or less and very few people know that simple steps can be taken to save lives.
Noticing this, citizenAID™ was created by civilian and military clinicians with decades of experience in trauma medicine, mass casualty incident management, and battlefield casualty triage in collaboration with the medical industry to improve public resilience. Our goal is to prepare you so that you can help yourself, your family and your community during a traumatic event.
citizenAID™ North America is also a proud supporter of the STOP The Bleed® initiative.
With 25 years as a firefighter and EMT, and 15 years in the medical equipment industry, Bob has spent his entire career in the emergency response field. His development of citizenAID™ North America is the culmination of both his clinical experience on the street and his professional experience in business. After decades of responding to incidents and seeing patient outcomes directly correlate to speed of initial care, for Bob, the citizenAID™ mission is personal.
After many years in the army where he put his emergency medicine training to work, Dr. Schwartz became Chief of Emergency Medicine at Eisenhower Army Medical Center before joining the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) faculty, where he now serves as a professor and chairman. While at MCG, Dr. Schwartz was one of the original developers of the National Disaster Life Support courses, which work to bridge the gap between military and civilian groups that may need to work together during major disasters. More recently, he has worked with the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) on the development of standardized training for tactical emergency medical support.
And with every purchase of a Public Treatment Kit, our Classroom Sponsorship Program donates a training to a teacher or coach of your choice.*
