Following the Texas church shooting, I found myself distracted during Sunday sermons. I was overwhelmed by fear that a shooting would happen in my place of worship, to my family, and to my community. In both prayer and in preparation, I found relief. As a member of the citizenAID community, my hope is that others will too.
Through citizenAID, I’ve gained knowledge and tools to help save my children if a horrific incident ever happens. I know how to stop the bleed, how to find an exit, how to save a life. Believe it or not, this knowledge all came in a free app and a short, simple online course. It took less than 30 minutes for me to quell that fear.
I’ve now become a part of the citizenAID team, serving as Executive Director, with the goal of bringing these lifesaving tools to all communities. Our citizenAID app is free, easy to use, doesn’t take up much storage space, and works even if you lose cell phone service. Our courses are designed for busy moms, hard-working teachers, faith leaders, and member of all communities. They’re short, dynamic, and accessible. And, the content was designed by American experts in emergency medicine, like Dr. Richard Schwartz.
citizenAID is about educating, empowering and equipping everyone in the country to save lives. Join us by doing three simple things:
- Join our community
- Download the free app
- Take a course and get a kit
