citizenAID is helping Columbus Regional Airport Authority Train 2,000 Employees for Emergency Response and puts Bleeding Control Kits throughout Airports.
Employees at three Central Ohio airports will receive life-saving training courses and public trauma kits to increase disaster preparedness.
This partnership will train 2,000 employees across Bolton, Rickenbacker, and John Glenn International airports as a part of there commitment to public safety. Columbus Airport Authority employees as well as all people who work on the airport campuses will receive online training courses that teach them how to respond in various emergencies and how to treat wounded people before help arrives.

Nearly 200 Public Treatment Kits are now available across all terminals for public use. Our free phone app will be advertised to airport visitors as well. The app walks them through personal safety measures as well as the use of the medical equipment which can be found in specialized wall cases. This partnership is the first of its kind making these the Columbus airports the first in the nation to empower both employees and travelers with online training, Public Treatment Kits and a free lifesaving app. |
JR Thomas, Columbus Airport Authority’s Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, spoke on the importance of the partnership:
“Thousands of people travel through Columbus airports on a daily basis, and although our employees are trained to take safety precautions, there are some things we can’t control. That’s why we’re going a step further and training 2,000 employees and providing almost 200 trauma kits across Central Ohio’s airports.”
